From 30 May to 2 June 2019, the 13th World Music Festival will take place in Innsbruck. Several thousand participants and visitors are expected again for this unique festival of the Deutsche Harmonika-Verband (DHV).
The previous categories are essentially preserved, but a few minor changes will follow. Concerning the number of players in ensembles, the fact is taken into account that accordion orchestras are getting smaller. In addition to the category orchestra with conductor now also offered an ensemble category. So the chamber music will now be for 3-6 players (bass amplification allowed!), The ensemble will start only with 7 players (up to 12 players) and then continue with the orchestra with 12 players and conductor.
In addition to the existing adult categories, there will also be youth categories for ensembles and chamber music (3-6 accordions) in 2019. Also on offer is the chamber music classics with an accordion plus 2-5 classical instruments, which are also offered separately to the professionals. Furthermore, the categories for harmonica and Styrian harmonica are preserved, as well as the world music and the mixed instrumentations. Also in individual categories is the possibility of participation for amateur orchestras of the older generation.
In most categories, there is also the usual classification in the known difficulty levels (excellence, advanced, middle, elementary) and the resulting performance times (20, 15, 12, 8 minutes). The pieces can be found in the rating lists on the DHV page for download. Important note: These lists are not recommendation lists but only lists to determin the level of difficulty. On the download page available as well the General Competition Rules of the DHV from 01.07.2016.
